About dentures

Modern dentures look far more natural than many people expect. We make them in our own laboratory from accurate impressions of your mouth, with teeth chosen to suit your face, age and skin tone.

A denture that rocks or rubs is usually a denture that no longer fits. As the gums and bone change over the years, a reline or a new denture — or a few implants to hold it — can make eating comfortable again.

This may be suitable if you have

  • Several or all teeth missing
  • A denture that is loose, broken or sore
  • Difficulty chewing with your current teeth
  • A budget-friendly alternative to implants

How treatment works

  1. Impressions

Accurate moulds of your gums and a record of how your jaws meet.

  2. Try-in

You see and test the teeth set in wax, and we adjust the look and bite before it is finished.

  3. Fit and adjust

The finished denture is fitted, with review visits to ease any sore spots.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get used to dentures?

Most people feel comfortable within two to four weeks. Speaking and eating soft food come first; harder food gets easier with practice.

Should I wear my dentures at night?

We advise taking them out at night to rest your gums, and keeping them in water or a cleaning solution so they don't dry out.

Can implants stop my denture moving?

Yes. Two to four implants with clip-on attachments can hold a lower denture firmly in place, which most patients find life-changing.
